Complete your profile: registered business (Pty Ltd or CC)
Prepare the information and authority details for a registered Pty Ltd or Close Corporation.
Choose this route when your business is registered with CIPC as a Private Company (Pty Ltd) or Close Corporation (CC). If you haven't created your iKhokha account yet, start with Set up your profile and start trading.
Choose the registered-business route
Select the option shown for a Private Company or Close Corporation. Pty Ltd and CC follow this route, but the entity and verification check determine which people and evidence you need to provide.
Have your company information ready
Your CIPC registration details.
The registered business name and business information.
The identity details of the person completing the application.
The address and banking information requested.
Any authority, resolution or entity documents requested during verification.
Complete the company details
Enter the company information exactly as it appears in the records used for verification. Use the registered name, CIPC details, business activity and representative information consistently throughout the application. Add the address and banking details requested by the form.
Don't upload a document for a different company or choose a sole-proprietor route to avoid a company-document request.
Authority and verification
Ideally, a director completes the application for a Private Company (Pty) Ltd, and a member completes it for a Close Corporation. If you are not a director or member, you can still apply, but iKhokha may ask for authority information or a resolution.
For the identity and verification requirements, see What you need to get verified, and why. If you denied camera access during a requested face scan, see Complete your face scan if you denied camera access.
If extra documents are needed
If you're a director or member, you don't need to send extra business documents. Have your CIPC registration number ready. It's the number the business received when it registered with CIPC, and it starts with the year of registration.
If you're not a South African citizen, see What you need to get verified, and why for any extra documents that may be needed. When that process requires supporting documents by email, send them to onboarding@ikhokha.com from the same email address you used to create your iKhokha account.
Check before you submit
The legal structure matches the company you want to use.
The registered name and CIPC details are correct.
The person completing the application can respond to an authority request.
The address and banking information are entered as requested.
You have the authority or resolution information available if it is requested.
After you submit
iKhokha will review your application and let you know if anything else is needed. Once the company account is approved, you can set up your card machine or iK Tap on Phone, depending on how you want to take payments.
