What you'll need for a trust

  • Business name: this is the name that will appear on digital or printed receipts.

  • What the business does: a clear description of what products or services the business sells.

  • Business address: where the business operates.

  • Your ID or passport details: you may also need to provide your ID document.

  • Be ready to complete a face scan to confirm your identity.

  • Your residential address.

  • Bank account details: the account must be in the trust's or business's name so the business can receive payouts.

  • The trust deed.

  • Copy of each trustee's ID document.

  • Bank confirmation letter showing the account is in the trust's or business's name.

Add the trust details

Open each card and fill in the details about yourself and the business. Once you've completed all the required sections, the information will be submitted automatically.

For information about identity verification, the documents you may need, and additional requirements if you don't have a South African ID number, see What you need to get verified, and why.

If you denied camera access when asked to complete your face scan, see Complete your face scan if you denied camera access.

Send us the trust documents

After submitting the details online, email the following documents to onboarding@ikhokha.com. Use the same email address you used to create your iKhokha profile.

  • The trust deed.

  • A copy of each trustee's ID document.

  • A bank confirmation letter showing the account is in the trust's or business's name.

If you're setting up the business for the trustees

Ideally, one of the trustees should set up the business to accept payments. If you're not a trustee, you can still complete the process, but iKhokha will need additional documents to confirm you're authorised to act on behalf of the business.

Please also email:

  • A selfie of one of the trustees holding their ID document.

  • A resolution letter signed by all trustees. Download the resolution letter template.

After you send your details and documents

iKhokha will review the details and documents. Keep an eye on your email in case iKhokha asks for additional information or documents. Send them so the review can continue.

Once the business is approved to accept payments, you can choose and set up the iKhokha products and features you want to use.
