What to do when iKhokha notifies you that a card-machine update is available.

Your iK Flyer or iK Flyer Lite runs Android. Android updates bring security or performance improvements. These updates are rare. iKhokha app updates happen more often.

How you know an Android update is available

Your card machine notifies you when an Android update is available. After the update downloads, the machine tells you when it is ready to install. You can't take payments while the update installs. The machine restarts when the installation is complete.

Why updates matter

Install updates when your machine asks. Updates can fix known problems and improve security or performance. If you skip an update and it would have prevented a fault, that could affect your warranty.

If you skip an update

Skipping an update can cause performance issues. Your card machine will keep reminding you to update Android.

If your card machine is slow after an update

It is normal for the machine to run slowly at first while its services start in the background. If it stays slow for a prolonged period or the update was interrupted, don't start another update immediately. Note any message shown on the machine.

If you're having trouble connecting or linking the card machine, see Card machine troubleshooting. If the machine appears faulty or may need replacing, see Warranty, faulty machines and replacements.

If an update doesn't complete

If the machine stops responding, the update remains incomplete or an error keeps returning, contact iKhokha Support on 087 222 7000 or support@ikhokha.com with the exact message shown. Don't keep retrying the update while the machine is unresponsive.
