Take a payment with iK Tap on Phone
- iKhokha App (Android)
Enter the amount, choose Tap on Phone and let the customer tap their contactless card on your phone.
Take a contactless payment with iK Tap on Phone by entering the amount in the iKhokha app, choosing Tap on Phone and asking the customer to hold their contactless card against the back of your Android phone.
Before the payment
Make sure iK Tap on Phone is enabled, NFC is switched on and your phone is connected to the internet. If this is your first payment, complete Set up iK Tap on Phone first.
Start the payment
Enter the sale amount in the iKhokha app.
Check the amount and select Charge.
Select Tap on Phone when the payment method appears.
Ask the customer to tap
Ask the customer to hold their contactless card against the back of your phone.
Start around the middle or upper part of the back of the phone, where the NFC reader is usually located.
Keep the phone and card still while the app reads the card.
A vibration or on-screen cue can mean the phone has detected the card. Keep following the app until it shows the payment result.
Confirm the payment
Only treat the sale as paid when the app confirms that the payment was successful. Use the successful payment result in the app to confirm the sale. A vibration or a customer's message that their bank was charged isn't enough.
Send a receipt
After a successful payment, use the digital receipt or sharing option shown in the app if the customer wants a receipt.
If the card is not read in time
If the tap window expires before the card is read, restart the payment and ask the customer to hold the card over the NFC area again. If this keeps happening, see iK Tap on Phone troubleshooting.
