Which cards you can accept

iKhokha card machines accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express (AmEx) card payments.

How customers can present a card

• iK Flyer: the customer can tap, insert or swipe a supported card.

• iK Flyer Lite: the customer can tap or insert a supported card. The iK Flyer Lite does not support swipe.

Start the sale and follow the instruction shown on the machine. A customer may need to enter a PIN or follow another on-screen prompt before the payment can be approved.

Foreign cards and currency choice

Some eligible foreign-card payments may show a currency choice through Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC). The customer can choose the displayed amount in their home currency or pay in South African rand (ZAR). Let the customer choose on the machine. Before the customer chooses, the machine shows the sale total in rand, for example R235.10. The currency-choice screen can show USD 12.40 and its equivalent, ZAR 235.10, with the exchange rate and margin.

If a supported card does not work

A decline does not always mean the card type is unsupported. Ask the customer to follow the machine prompt or try another supported card or available card-entry method. Check Why a payment was declined or failed if the payment still does not complete.
